Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced 3G mobile services in Tamil Nadu.  The 3G services were initially launched at Coimbatore, Coonoor and Ooty of Tamil Nadu circle. BSNL has claimed that around 7.5 lakh of it customers were having 3G services across 300 cities and the firm intends to extend this to 700 cities by the year mid. -- MP

The State transport department has put a ban on usage of cell phones for bus drivers while on duty. The move comes in the wake of findings that a large number of road accidents were attributed to the misuse of cell phones while driving.
