Now if students carry even ordinary cell phones in campus, these will be confiscated, auctioned and the proceeds will go into a Students Welfare Fund. Not surprisingly, the move is being met with stiff resistance. Students feel it's a knee jerk reaction to stray instances of misuse of mobile phones in other parts of the country. Many students and parents privately argue that the authorities have got their priorities wrong. As the nodal centre of engineering education in the state, Anna University ought to have cracked down on capitation fees and low standards of education instead of banning mobile phones.

Shankar Mahadevan, in his characteristic style, has rendered 'Rongola' with Sujatha. This is another typical hustle-bustle number from Harris Jayaraj, who revels in these type of compositions. Anupama provides a peppy number in 'Rahatulla', with Thamarai penning the song.
