Toshiba JSw to set up turbine plant in Chennai

The Japan based Toshiba and the JSW group has entered into a joint venture to set up a turbine plant in Chennai. to manufacture steam turbines and generators for thermal power plants.

 The firm plans to invest would invest $160 million for the purpose over a span of five years which will include constructing manufacturing and production unit for steam turbines and generators. The companty hopes to begin the construction by this month and manufacturing is expected to start in January 2011.
