The Tamilnadu government has strongly objected to the Andhra Pradesh governmnent's move to construct dam across the Palar river at Kuppam in Andhra.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also warned of legal consequences if Andhra goes ahead with the project. He also called for the Center government's intervention to take immediate steps to resolve the issue. The inflow from Palar river to the Tamil Nadu's Vellore region could be reduced if the dam is built.
The case on Palar river issue had been taken up before also and is still pending with the Supreme Court which has directed both the States to resolve amicably.
