DMK to support from outside

Upset over the ministerial allocation put forward by the Congress, the Karunanidhi's DMK, the loyal ally of the UPA has decided to stay out of the government and provide only outside support to the Manmohan Singh government at the Center.

Meanwhile Congress claimed the DMK's demands for 8 berths as unreasonable but maintained that the dialoges were still on with the DM to reach on a favorable formula on the cabinet posts. DMK is learnt to have asked for key portfolios including Telecom, Power, Transport, IT and communications.

 It is also said that Karuna was keen on getting a berth for all of his family members besides retaining DMK ministers T R Baalu and Raja.
